About the Master’s Degree

The Operations Research Program has doctoral studies and has established academic exchange programs with prestigious universities from developed countries, through which, students and professors are completing their studies, and outstanding professionals visit us as guest professors.

The postgraduate courses of Operations Research at Galileo University ensure the higher education and training of university graduates from technical areas, who come to our classrooms in search of solid knowledge of great impact, to become consultants in the areas of competence of the master’s degree.

Graduate Profile

The graduate of the Master’s Degree in Operations Research will be highly qualified and will have the mathematical and thematic instruments enough to propose to companies, solutions that will improve the expected results in the objectives of the same.

The graduate will have the ability to design and contribute to mathematical models and apply in the search for optimization of the use of scarce resources. Among other fields of application of the graduate, among which we can mention: advanced management of administrative processes, financial management and investment planning, dynamic programming and simulation applied to the theory of linear and nonlinear problems, financial management of private companies and public companies of various kinds, planning, execution and control of projects in private and public companies.

Methodology

Presence based

Each class is planned so that the theoretical and practical contents that motivate the interaction between the teacher and the students can be developed.

The methodology proposed, motivates the participation of students in an exchange of ideas, knowledge and perspectives. It also combines several complementary learning methods and strategies such as use of highly equipped laboratories, expert talks, participation in scientific fairs, preparation of real projects, motivation for self-learning and carrying out conferences, among others.

This in order to enhance knowledge and thus generate in the student better criteria, experiences, perspectives and knowledge that lead him to a training as complete and comprehensive as possible.

Virtual

Our educational model promotes a constructivist learning in which the programming of learning activities does not imply schedules for all participants; each one carries out his/her activities according to his availability of time and the guidelines established in the courses approved by the academic entity to which he/she belongs to. The emphasis of the process is on the autonomous activity of the student with the guidance of the teacher and the support and exchange of knowledge with other participants.

The learning cycle consists of a sequence of activities that begin with an exploratory stage, which leads to the study of concrete materials and then continues with activities that facilitate conceptual development from the experiences collected by the students during the exploration. Activities are then developed to apply and evaluate the understanding of these concepts.
